See Ya Simon by David Hill

See Ya Simon by David Hill
Published: Wellington : Mallinson Rendel, 1992

Teenagers Simon and Nathan share many of the same interests which include girls, computers and collecting sensationalist tabloid headlines, but the sharp tongued, quick witted Simon also has muscular dystrophy and is likely to die in the next few years.

See Ya Simon is the kind of book that everyone should read at least once in their lifetime.

While reading See Ya Simon I fell in love with both Simon and Nathan, they are both really great guys and the best friends that could ever exist. All of the characters are that great.

This book is relatively short and I spent my entire night just reading through this book because it is really that good. Highly entertaining See Ya Simon made me laugh and cry. It also made me want to read the entire thing so I could find out everything that happened.

I'm not one for spoiling the endings of books and so I won't spoil this one for you but I can tell you now that it is definitely a really good and really heart-wrenching ending.

While most people would think this book is about a boy who is dying and it just has his downward spiral. It's not really. It is a novel that celebrates life, friendship and love. Also a quick warning, this book is highly emotive so have a box of tissues on hand.

I would definitely recommend this book to everyone. But I tell you now, make sure you have a couple of hours on hand because you will not want to put this book down.
